Text message claiming to be Santander, claiming that there is some suspicious payment attempts on your current account. Said they’d attempt to call shortly ti talk to you about it in on a number, it was like the banks number, its not the actual banks number its different by 1 digit.

Received a call today 21.6.22 at 13:15. Recorded message purporting to be Visa regarding to possible acts of fraud against my debit card. 1 x £1000 and 1 x £300. Immediately suspected a scam, pressed to speak to an adviser and decided once more to play along. Male with foreign accent, as usual acting as if I had called in. Prank texting from this number...

Scam call pretending to be Virgin Media (broadband internet). Standard scam pattern. Voices/accents from Indian subcontinent but claiming western names ("Daniel", "Robert", etc). Presumably using in-country telephone redirection service so as to appear with 0161 prefix. Claimed "We are getting errors from your internet connection." Wanted me to download Anydesk software so they could take remote control of my computer.

A cold call. Caller said that I had a problem with my internet for 3 weeks and his engineers were fixing the problem. Caller did not use my name or the name of my internet provider. Caller did not answer any of my questions but carried on reading from his script. I am sure that this was some sort of SCAM attempt. As usual I did not give the caller any information that would identify me or any account that I may have.

This number is not recognised if you try to ring back. So assume it is some kind of scam. 0789467770

It is a phone number that texts you on what’s app trying to scam you for your booking.com reservations
