Potentially dangerous scam. Got a call from them this morning. In the most Queen's English claiming to be HMRC and stating that there is a tax fraud case against me. Threatening to issue a warrant and arrest me if I don't call them back... All hallmarks of a scam, not addressing me by name and going straight into threats territory.

Received call from busy overseas call centre claiming to be BT. When I pointed out that yesterdays call was reported as a fraud to the police she hung up. Yesterdays call exactly same script but from 01724956685 they are hacking into or falsely generating a UK number. It is the role of BT to put a stop to this nonsense?

Furthermore when I block their number they use spoofing to call me from fake numbers. They call at least 2 times a day, every week. At 8.20am I answered my land line thinking it must be important and was a local number. It was a automated message saying ‘thank you for your payment of £299 for anti virus, if any problems please call our free phone number’ The number I’m afraid I didn’t get and it didn’t say any company either. I’m sure this is a scam of some sort that they catch you when you call to complain so very much aimed at the trusting, naive or elderly.
