Suspicious call claiming to be from Virgin Media regarding my internet. Line quality was terrible & the agents accent was really thick, so very hard to understand her. Wanted me to download something, hung up. Confirmed with Virgin Media that no issues with my internet & this was a scam.
I emailed them to send me a brochure but now they are calling me which is annoying as i just wanted to see what they had available Not going to order just browsing which i thought that i wouldnt have to get a call to confirm something that i have already written which really defeats the whole object Understand that its all sales to them but also need to realise that only asked for a brochure and if i have any questions i would call them myself

They claim to be "Road Traffic Management" and that they can get you additional compensation for a RTA you've had. They also claim to have got your details from the MIB (Motor Insurance Database), but when pushed they claim that all they were given was your phone number and the fact that your vehicle had been in an accident in the last five years that wasn't your fault. Phone twice said calling on behalf of Northampton Council, looking for contact details of the site manager in charge of one of our sites down south. We dont have any? Told them this on both occasions. They said their details must not be up to date?? Probably just some marketing company trying to get a foothold within companies so they can bombard us with emails etc.

As of writing, 3 different numbers tried to call me today (020 8956 2943, 020 8956 2230 and 020 8956 2601). They all start with 020, I don’t know anyone who owns those numbers, maybe the same individual is using different numbers to call me. Likely a fraud and now it’s harassing.

SCAM. The caller was a woman claiming to be based in Cape Town, South Africa. She further claimed to be from the energy company – E.ON – that supplies me with electricity. She knew or guessed my first name, and asked for confirmation of details of my name and mailing address.
