Almost certainly SPAM/SCAM as it called at the usual parasites'/pests' evening time, in this case 6.30pm. There was a suspicious pause & silence (auto-dialler?) when I answered and then the call was disconnected. I then rang back the number (03300270201) and got the following recorded message (female voice, American accent): "The number you have dialled is no longer in service. Fraud I believe this was an attempt to get my debt card information. I typed in the url filled up with an all red page telling me this was a fraudulent site and to not contact or talk to these people. UNSAFE SITE trying to get my credit card, social sec. info etc. It had the phone number 208-537-7505 which if you call it, get nothing but what sounds like a fake ring - No one picks up. The URL they sent in the text led me to the warning site. The text will ask if you used your card and the amt charged.
They said they were from HMRC. That I was due a refund due to my tax on a ppi claim. I have never claimed on a ppi form. I asked them to put the information in the post, they declined saying they don’t use the post. I then said we’ll send me an email and if you are HMRC you will have my email address. They then said if I changed my mind to phone them. Very strange

Very slick, found out where my child goes and said 'headmaster will call you yo thank you'......then start pressurising payment over the phone and calling back daily. More needs to be done to shut these types of scammer down!!!

DANGEROUS SCAM. The Phone rang and caller (a computer) hung up when I didn't speak! This was a computer generated call trying to sniff out voice lines. If you answered "hello" or anything else then the line will be detected as 'a voice line' and you'll likely be called back later by some con-artist! They may also be quick to say they are not selling, simply enquiring, surveying, etc. THESE CALLS ARE SCAMS & HARASSING.
