This is a SCAM. The call started with a woman stating she was from Virgin Media and had noted problems with my router; asked if I had also noticed this. I said I hadn't. She said she could help me resolve the problem. I told her she couldn't, not least because I wasn't with Virgin Media. She told me she could help because all the providers' support centres were working together on this. I told her 'nice try' and hoped the weather was good in Delhi, or wherever she was 'phoning from. Then I hung up.

Talking about issue of not being covered due to non-disclosure for older policies. Claimed not to be sales, but during the call I did hear in the background applause and cheers (which indicates someone did make a sale in the same room). Asked if I'd like to be featured as their "(my profession) of the year" for a fee, when I questioned it they hung up. Initially claimed to be from a crime monitoring unit, which was odd since they called from a mobile number.

Caller claimed to be from EE customer service, told me I have a good credit rating and I was inline for an upgrade, I informed her I was not an EE customer so then she said I must be an O2 customer, I told her I wasnt and she then droppped the carrier on me as I was suspicious.

Fraud Scam. Vodafone support website has a page on which to verify that a number is calling from Vodafone. This is not a Vodafone number. Here's the information I could get from them before they hung up. The caller claimed to be from Vodafone promotional dept offering a new phone upgrade and 2 year contract. Caller was inconsistent in what they said. Once saying a verification email would arrive in 30 minutes then saying 1 hour. They switched for no reason between talking about iphone and Samsung phones.
