SPAM I had a call this afternoon from 01491281131 The name was completely garbled but claimed there had been an attempt by Amazon for £300 this Morning, then a "suspicious- because I had never used this service before" International Money wiring service claim for £!,200. Then the usual Press 1 to cancel, 2 to speak to an advisor I did some checking and there is NO claims being made and the Phone Number has only been issued today, 5th April

Two calls within 5 minutes of each other from different landlines with an automatic voice stating a verification code. I was sent this after being sent a verification code from vinted.
"Bank Security" telling me they needed authorisation for two amounts on my credit card. One for £300 from Amazon. (It is amazing how often I seem to "pay" Amazon £300) and one for an overseas number. Another variation on an old scam. Blocked

An urgent verbal message on a loop advising me that Trojan software had been active on my system and that I should not switch off and should phone this number which I did - they said they were Microsoft (a residential number!?) The person wanted me to hold down the Windows and 'R' keys so that he could correct the problem. I asked him if that enabled him to take control of my machine and he then put the phone down. Seems dodgy.

BT Call Guardian took care of it as the spammers/scammers will never bother to 'announce' themselves... they can't when they're using autodiallers to try and connect to as many number as possible. Believe a scam - I had a letter which says it is from Lloyds Bank ( we do have a Lloyds Business a/c) but when rang this number on the letter they couldn't find our account by searching via name or post code or by ref number on letter - they asked for our account number which I didn't give or if I had a business card with me - I hung up - the phone number location for this number given above is a field near Blackburn in Lancashire but the address on letter is Edinburgh
