I can confirm this is absolutely genuine. I had 2 messages after an online payment asking to reply and quote a 3 digit pin number. Being suspicions by nature I called customer services number (it s on the back of your card so you know you are definitely talking to Santander). They put me through to their security team who verified it was them. It s good to know they do these checks to be fair, but in this day and age how do we trust the texts they send lol :-)

Ive had four automated calls from 0845 3550064 over two days regarding a fraud on my Santander account. But it is not me they want but the lady who lived at this address 14 years ago. She is now 92 and in a care home in another county and doesnt bank with Santander. I didnt bother to respond to this auto message. Could some scammers have somehow hijacked this number? If the previous owner had picked up this call she might have had a heart attack with worry. If it is Santander they should stop this practice
