SCAM There was a short pause after I picked up the telephone, with a lot of background noise, such as you might get from someone in a crowded bar, not what I'd expect from a legitimate outfit. The person who spoke had a thick accent so I initially thought it might be from an overseas call centre. The person who spoke said they were from British Telecom, so I told them where to go and hung up.

This company has rang both mobile and land lines on numerous occasions - as I know no-one in the 01267 area that would know my numbers have ignored them - however I am waiting a call from someone whose number is not yet known to me (private old friend) so when the phone rang on and off for about ten minutes I assumed it may be my friend. I asked for their consumer credit license number and they gave me one which isn t registered to them and lapsed in 2010 (572026). They also said they were part of Crowdcude which they are not, and call themselves Start Up Loans Ltd. No such company is registered with companies house. Funnily based in Glasgow apparently, none of the advisors had Scottish accents, but all had African ones.
