I answered the phone to a confident sounding male who I knew was trying to sell something as he began with the usual "I hope I find you well this afternoon". He said our property was on their database as having old fashioned loft insulation. I immediately interrupted him to tell him he was wrong, we have modern insulation and that we don't want it up to the rafters as the loft is boarded and used for storage. I received a scam text from this number. Don't click the link they send you from here, just forward the message to 7726.
Answering this number gives rise to a recorded message threatening legal action and arrest for tax evasion, and an option to press a number for further action. I rang off, but this looks like a dangerous phishing call that is after personal details (banking details). As it comes from a Westminster landline it should be easy to trace and shut down. It should be investigated by by the police.

Unpleasant SCAM / SPAM. They left this voice mail message on my phone: "For you there is a tax fraud case registered under your name. You have to press one to get connected to the officer of HMRC.
