Call center Asked for my wife by name, renewal due on TV care package I challenged, said it was a scam because my wife left all TV to me and we have never had cover. I asked for proof and was assured they had proof, when I said my wife had died years ago they could not progress their payment request, as any debt had ceased. I should have progressed further before reporting my wife had died.

I was called from this number this morning claiming to be from my bank. It was a recorded message and not a ‘live’ caller. I was informed there were two suspect transactions from my account and, if they weren’t from me, I should press 1 on my keypad. I hung up immediately, checked my bank account and saw that the transactions didn’t exist so I assume that this was an attempted scam.

The call was from a VISA fraud checking unit. However the number was the fax number for a garage in Penkridge, Stafford that closed down some time ago. Clearly scammers have cloned the number.

I receive many such calls but they never leave a message. If a message was left I would respond. If I answered all such calls I wouldn't have sufficient time to run my own business. A recorded message by fake computer woman purporting to be from UK HM Customs and Revenue for not paying my tax. Its a scam as I don't owe any tax. I PAYE and have a very simple life. UK revenue don't call anyone in this way. The speaker clearly did not know me nor my location. Slight American accent. I assume if had bothered to waste my time, that they would have wanted me to call a premium rate number to sort it out or to pay them online. DON'T pay anything, don't worry its FAKE.
