received a text from this number claiming to be Nationwide, with a link to verify a payment. I have an account with them so at first glance could be reasonable. The link was https://nationwide.co.uk.payee-authorisation-938.info which I believe is fake (ends in .info) and has nothing to do with nationwide.co.uk

Answered the call to received a screeching noise down the phone and then they hung up.
You may be a customer without knowing. I m going to buck the trend here... yes it s D&G, and they had a valid reason to call me. I m sure they probably cold-call too but for me I am a customer already.. and many of you may be too without knowing. As of writing, 3 different numbers tried to call me today (020 8956 2943, 020 8956 2230 and 020 8956 2601). They all start with 020, I don’t know anyone who owns those numbers, maybe the same individual is using different numbers to call me. Likely a fraud and now it’s harassing.
A recorded voice saying it’s from HMRC and there was a case of tax fraud linked to me. If I didn’t press 1 they were issuing a warrant.
