SCAM / SPAM When I answered the call an automated voice told me that it was HMRC and I was being investigated for tax fraud. It said to press 1 to be taken to HMRC. I pressed 1 and a lady with an Indian accent answered saying she was HMRC and "how can I help you?" Seem to have now blocked 0843 980 12xx where xx so far is anywhere between 01 to 51 - 47 just the latest. Last time i answered it from one of these numbers there was nobody there. Wonder if phone numbers of the call centre staff are also on their autocall list.

Others advise choosing keypad options;I ve not tried,in case it s a premium rate/International call back scam. This number has called me fives times today starting at 10am! As the day has gone on the calls have been approx. an hour apart. No message left but they seem pretty keen to get hold of me. Any ideas anyone? I do not answer numbers I do not know.
