Fraud. Got a text supposedly from GOV.UK with an https// click-in, advising me that they have identified me as being eligible for a discounted energy bill under the energy bill support scheme. Mmmm how did they know my number? why didn't I get an official letter/mmmm. No surprise really it's a fraud scam, the government doesn't text you to tell you they are giving you money,and as far as I know will never do this anyway. Why aren't they traced and shut down?

The caller said we had banned loft insulation. Even though they didn't ask if we had any or which kind. They said we had to let their surveyor come and inspect the loft. An automated vioce usually, claiming various things, in this instance, claiming to be an automated message from my 'bank' regarding a suspicious £300 Amazon charge, it then asks you to press a button option to respond. Don't do it, as I recall, doing so ensures you will get put on a list for more calls, simply because a 'human' responded

First said it was from Sky, (knew my name and address), said my contract ended now in begin of April, I corrected saying it was only next month. Phoned me 29 april /23 april/21 april and today at 06.00 2nd May. I answered but no response, some intermittent clicking and tone. I put the receiver down after about one minute I'd answered 'Hallo' but no other message identifying me.
Silent, then hung up. Probably scammers verifying "live" phone numbers. I expect scam attempts will follow soon.
