Answering this number gives rise to a recorded message threatening legal action and arrest for tax evasion, and an option to press a number for further action. I rang off, but this looks like a dangerous phishing call that is after personal details (banking details). As it comes from a Westminster landline it should be easy to trace and shut down. It should be investigated by by the police.

Rang but hung up. I assume it is a hoax caller because scams have been reported from this area code.
They rang to say they were conducting a survey on behalf of BBC AND ITV . Allegedly to improve TV viewing. I can't see the BBC doing anything alongside the itv.
Said they were renewing my monthly subscription for Amazon prime, which I do not have. I was to press 2 to cancel.

Telemarketing company running scams PPI/Insurance reductions and automated messages, today is automated message, type a number to take offer or to stop calls, if you do this you will be charged extremely rates, block this caller they are a con company and if you fall for it they will sell your details, use to work for one of these companies.

I answered the phone to a confident sounding male who I knew was trying to sell something as he began with the usual "I hope I find you well this afternoon". He said our property was on their database as having old fashioned loft insulation. I Believe this is a scam call 01985216376 - I had a call from this number from a person with an Indian accent calling himself Barry. He said he was calling from open reach regarding our internet line, in the background it sounded like an office environment. I called the number back and got an English speaking gentleman called Richard and no office sounds in the background and he was not open reach. They may be tapping in to UK numbers to catch people out. My internet is working Fine by the way.
Potential cost trap! I also had a phone call about my computer and its "harmful viruses." I said thanks but I dont have the conscience to accept help from a cold call. I felt I was putting my privacy in danger.
