A SCAM - be very careful as the person on the phone will try to get you to download a programme called "anydesk.com" which gives remote access to your computer. In my case the person said he was from SKY and was checking on my report on bad internet signal (that part was true). He took me through a few dialogue boxes (thankfully I knew that I was not changing settings). He then tried to get me to download the programme. Thankfully I questioned it. He hung up. It says it's from the gov. website and asks you to click a link to add your bank account details so that they can deposit the amount in your bank, so beware! Anyone who is entitled to any DWP money will automatically have it deposited into their bank account and upon researching this, I was told that DWP will NEVER text or ring you to inform you of your entitlements or ask for any details.

This number called me at 7:36 am on a Monday morning! I'm a retired person so I don't get up before the sun and at 7:36 am the sun is still in bed in Greater Manchester. I did jump out of bed but didn't pick up as I didn't recognise the number. Apparently the call originated in Thanet which Google tells me is in Kent. As I know of no reason why someone from Thanet (which I'd never even heard of) should phone me at an ungodly time of day I can only assume this was a scam call.

This number called me claiming to be bank security and that 2 transactions had been requested from my bank. One for Amazon for £200 and an international money transfer for £900. Press 1 to authorise or hold if you haven't made these transactions. I hung up.
