Scammers pretending to be HMRC, saying arrest warrant issued, phone number disconnected, bank accounts blocked, driving licence & passport cancelled, police on their way to home address (which the scammers don’t know). Do not provide any truthful info - lie as tho your life depends on it (your finances are under threat) as they will try to get you to agree to paying £987.26 (over £1000 gets bank fraud dept involved). Caller claimed they were calling because my Beko washing machine warranty had expired. I don t have a Beko washing machine. I gave this incorrect information to a unwanted cold call last week (Indian caller, UK Preference, claiming they were doing a survey). They have obviously passed my details to this company.
