Scam. Recorded call on my mobile about how I haven't paid my taxes and am in trouble. Heard about this from friends in North America, but now it is here in the UK!
Fraud: automated message saying an online payment of £900 online on my VISA debit card card was about to be made. I don't have Visa.
Didnt answer as I didn’t recognise the number. No voice mail was left. Obviously a nuisance call.

Be careful, I was called with an offer from ‘Currys Carphonewarehouse’ to reduce my mobile sim cost while upgrading the data and minutes allowance and the scammers already had a lot of my personal information including the monthly cost of my current sim plan. Indian call centre person (could hear others in the background trying to scam others), claiming to be from the Utilities Department. Told him I knew he was a scammer as there is no such thing as the Utilities Department. He hung up and I blocked the number. They also use 0161 669 0643 and 0640. Seems they have purchased quite a few numbers to scam people.
