Claimed to be from Aviva, asking about life insurance. Asked who my provider was, told him I don t know, he hung up. Clearly fake
Fraud Stated my national insurance number had been involved with crime and threatened arrest - load of nonsense.
I was called from 0121 554 8370 who claimed to be from virgin media stating that my internet had been highjacked from outside the property. When asking the caller questions she was not able to provide adequate information so I ended the call as I became suspicious as the questions they would have knowledge of by looking at our account details. If this was a genuine call from virgin media, I suggest they have the details of the account in front of them before they make the call.

Rang me 3 times telling me I had recently applied to a trading company which was untrue. Would not give their company name, only first name of callers (2 - one with Indian dialect, second and third caller with African dialect). Had an old BT email number for me (10 years ago). I love these calls. This one was from UK Times. On a previous occasion they asked for me by my real name. I said I had passed on (take that as you wish) and I gave them a fictitious name which they used this time. I answered all the questions and now hope to receive phone calls from all the sponsors which I can then report to the Information Commissioner s Office. As the call was from overseas the TPS has absolutely no control over these kinds of callers.
