This is a market research company called GSKNOP. I had daily hang up calls from them then eventually spoke to a human who wanted to do a 20 min financial questionnaire but gave me the Market Research Society phone number so I said if they didn t take my name/number off their data base that I d report them to the MRS. I haven t heard from them since.

I have called applianceserve on 08004118899. I said I had asked for a refund of the £175 I had paid for my washing machine to cover the next 3 years following the expiry of the manufacturer s guarantee but had not received any response. Having seen comments on the internet saying it was a scam, I said if the company is genuine then please can you arrange a refund. She looked up my details and said someone will call me tomorrow in office hours. She sounded pleasant - so - watch this space!!

Had several calls over the past couple of weeks. Latest was today with the correct name, but then said "oh, wrong number" - very suspicious.

Picked up call when visiting my very elderly mother. They knew her name but little more. They asked to speak to her but would not say who they were, but said it was important. The remarkable thing is this is just one of a number of calls I ve had about a minor car accident I had about a year ago. My phone number was given to my insurance company ( a reputable company I ve always thought ) someone passed it on to these chancers. We talk about the rising menace of fraud and scams, this practise of selling on customers details has to stop. Whatever happened to the data protection act?

Its CVD as others mentioned. Even after cancellation they will call you to death. The reason we changed insurers was because of their aggressive style and over the top prices. Try moneysupermarket van and you will be truly shocked!
