I was called just now by a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from Openreach and that she believed I should be getting download speeds of over 40mbs. She asked me to do a speed test which I did and got 19mbs. I asked how I would know she was genuinely from Openreach. She handed me over to her supervisor. He tried to convince me he was genuine and asked my press Ctrl Windows buttons on my keyboard so he could improve my internet connection speed. I again challenged whether he was from BT Openreach. H

After three calls yesterday about the same thing, all from crooks saying they were from Talk Talk, this man had rung to tell me my router had been compromised, though I did not pay much attention to what he said was wrong with it. Automated message purporting to be from Amazon Prime stating that £39.99 was about to be taken out of my account. Instructed to press 1 to speak to a representative. Clearly, that would instigate and expensive return call… Plus they woke my 86 year old Mother who is very ill from her afternoon sleep.

I Believe this is a scam call 01985216376 - I had a call from this number from a person with an Indian accent calling himself Barry. He said he was calling from open reach regarding our internet line, in the background it sounded like an office environment. I called the number back and got an English speaking gentleman called Richard and no office sounds in the background and he was not open reach. They may be tapping in to UK numbers to catch people out. My internet is working Fine by the way.
Do not recognise the number so just do not answer. I know people in Chichester but they would leave message. If no message I do not call back. Media company I suspect !
