"Max" tel.no. 01292388212 called my house phone and asked for me by surname. I didn't confirm. He then told me that I didn't have cover for central heating. I said I have his number and will check with the fraud squad before following up. I then politely hung up. Maybe a legitimate cold call; but I wasn't interested to find out.

I asked him to speak slowly and clearly, he repeated the garbled content and I told him I didnt understand and needed him to speak slowly. He hung up. Sounded like a typical phishing call. Maybe they are legit but they called me at gone 8pm just for a survey that could've been an email! They call quite often too, personally I just ignore them.
Rang my landline number which is actually registered with the telephone preference service. Didn’t answer and no message left. On googling number, it’s probably a phishing line seeing if your number is being used.
