Irish lad said he was calling about my frozen pension. i played along and made up stuff about a fictitious pension which he VERIFIED. When said I was just digging out the file to get the pension reference number he hung up, l am a pension administrator so can baffle them with terminology. Proves these calls are a scam.

Seem to have now blocked 0843 980 12xx where xx so far is anywhere between 01 to 51 - 47 just the latest. Last time i answered it from one of these numbers there was nobody there. Wonder if phone numbers of the call centre staff are also on their autocall list.

After three calls yesterday about the same thing, all from crooks saying they were from Talk Talk, this man had rung to tell me my router had been compromised, though I did not pay much attention to what he said was wrong with it. I told him what a bad line it was and got him to repeat several times. He said he would call another time but I told him not to bother. I said I knew who it was calling. 16 calls from these people in a matter of 2 weeks offering PPI...despite telling them my claims have been settled!!!

did not recognise number. I answered but did not speak. there was a lot of background chatter, possibly a crowded office or call centre. caller just repeated "hello" without any introduction. they gave up after a few moments and just said "ok" and hung up.

Asked me to update service on fridge freezer as it had not been done for a year. I do not have a fridge freezer so the answer was easy !

Have been calling for approx 18 mnths, first started calling 4/5 times a day, dropped to once a week until eventually once a month or so. Very persistant, been calling for over 18 months.

You can use Truecaller to block calls. You will get notification that the number tried to call but when blocked it doesn t actually ring so you are not disturbed. You can pay by setting up direct debit and then cancel so not automatically taken following year. Don t take renewal quote...go on to AA site and get quote. Will be lower than renewal. Some organisations ie NHS get discount. Be smart. Play them at their own game.

Its a valid UK number, probably being spoofed by scammers. The scammers can spoof any number they want to. NEVER call unknown numbers back. If you do so, you may be calling a...
