Appears to be an auto-dialler. Read reports ranging from PPI to banking scam. Didn t answer and no voicemail left.

To STOP .......We were receiving calls on a daily basis from 0161 237 7500 and the message gives you 0161 236 2565 to be removed from call list. When you dial this number - it does not connect. After some digging on the internet (No1 Accident Claims Manchester) I found another number 0844 844 9199 - does not connect but hey oh two emails:- [email?protected] and [email?protected] Sent them a strongly worded email to get my number removed. Lets see whether it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This number called at 14:43 today. No message was left and as far as I am concerned people who can't be bothered to leave a message are probably up to no good - so SCAM?

Scam recorded message saying that they are stopping use of my National insurance number as I have committed several frauds and criminal activity, press 1 to speak with an officer... and no doubt get fleeced lots of money for doing so. SCAM they want your sort code and bank account number to stop scam phone calls at a one off cost of £183:99, they call themselves DATA COMPLIANCE and give you a telephone number for Cardiff 0292 000 8716. They started getting very angry when i asked them to supply paperwork and she was shouting at me down the line....which was when i hung up.

Claims to be HMRC tax fraud, "if you do not press 1 you will shortly be arrested". HMRC has my address and my employer details but not my phone number and they certainly don't need to make robot calls from Glasgow. SCAM.
Claiming to be BT, saying getting reports that my router/internet speed is not as it should be. Spoken English with strong foreign accent.....said something very garbled and fast followed by OK Repeated, when I told him I had not been able to understand what he was saying. Same thing happened on 2nd time of not understanding.....but this time he hung up. Suspect not BT at all.

Called my mobile this afternoon (NEVER believe any company saying they won't pass your details on!) Number came up as Bedford. I picked up but didn't speak straight away. After a couple or so seconds I started to say "Hello?" but they hung up before I spoke!

SCAM - automated call claiming that 'Due to unauthorised use, your internet will be disconnected' and to hold on the line to speak to a call handler. Caller with Indian accent claimed to be from 'Cyber Security Dept' that deals with security issues for all the service providers including BT. Starts by asking me if I have given my password to anyone and what devices I currently have connected. After giving her some bogus answers, I put her on hold and disconnected the call after 5mins. Definitely SCAM!
