Caller had British accent. He said he was not trying to selling anything, and asked something about electricity. However really most of what he said went in one ear and out the other, as I quicky lose interest when getting cold callers! These calls are annoying as I am registered with tpsonline.org.uk so I should not be getting these calls.

This number was a representative from a Greenpeace call agency. I checked with Greenpeace to validate this call and they confirmed it. They were asking for a direct debit payment after acquiring my number from a petition I signed. It's a home appliance insurance scam. They called my elderly mother and tried to make her think it was her existing insurance company but it's actually a fak-ish looking company called J&L Home Assist. They tried to get my mum to hand over her bank details and persisted even when she said she wasn't comfortable doing that. A bit of investigation reveals that there are a number of similar fake companies doing the same thing, all claiming to be in the Bournemouth area.
