Had a call saying my Amazon Prime free trial is about to expire - which is true, but the address does not correspond with Amazon in Leicester and when I called the number back it went to a full mail-box.
This number called me and said they were calling about an accident I had within the last 3 years. I asked her what accident would that be? She said you tell me! I said no you seem to know so much about me you tell me. She was so rude. She said don t give me that all you had to say was yes or no. The remarkable thing is this is just one of a number of calls I ve had about a minor car accident I had about a year ago. My phone number was given to my insurance company ( a reputable company I ve always thought ) someone passed it on to these chancers. We talk about the rising menace of fraud and scams, this practise of selling on customers details has to stop. Whatever happened to the data protection act?
Asked about a car accident - haven't has one so must be purely speculative. Claimed to be 'First Source Contact' but wouldn't engage in any further enquiry.
