Seems to be an automated call in Chinese, claiming to be from Barclays Bank and asserting that my account will be closed within the next two hours unless I contact them. Dodgier than the Artful Dodger eating jammy dodgers in Dodge City!

Caller said she was from VirginMedia and claimed that someone had hacked my Internet. Wanted to show me on my PC. When I said her story was a scam and rubbish, she said my PC was causing hacking attacks, and my Internet line will be blocked.
Just had a call from this number. A man called Daniel started to waffle about interest and stuff, I asked whether this was about PPI? He said it was about insurance and the interest and carried on talking about it, I asked him once again whether it was PPI. He admitted it was, I said I didn t have any, and he (rather arse-ily) said "Well, how would you know!? It s embedded in the insurance!" I said "Because I ve never had a mortgage, I ve never had a credit card and I ve never had a loan" He hung up.

Nuisance caller. I will prosecute this person for cold calls. Sometimes there is no answer when I lift the receiver; sometimes a female voice says "hello" and hangs up. They may have set the number so that when people dial "1471" the nuisance caller is still on the line and instead of the BT response to 1471 my phone is rigged to dial the caller s number. I am contacting the police with a view to prosecuting the caller for being a pest.

I see from other websites this caller has been dialling; listening, but not answering, around India, Pakistan, Germany, Ireland, Britain, for about a year. Not a child - the background voices are adult, mostly male. There is much background noise - pub?
This number is one of a group that has recently called me and appeared to be a scam of some sort. I answered and waited before speaking any, and after three seconds they hung up. They are calling, "On behalf of one of their clients", so telemarketing. I think it could be PPI advertising as I recently filled in a form online (although I did click to not receive any marketing calls). When I phoned the number back, there was an option to enter your number to then remove the information from their database. I did so. Within 24 hours it will be removed, according to them.. here s hoping!

Indian sounding person said his name was John called claiming to be from BT and that our internet connection could be accessed and our personal information could be compromised. he asked me to go on to my computer and he will guide me through what to do. Then i Put the phone down.
This number has now called 5 times since 23 March. I have found the name of the company ringing. All I will say it is an accident claims company.
