Scam recorded message from “U.K. customs and excise” saying there is a tax fraud registered in my name - yeh right ! If that was the case I would be getting a knock at my door...

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER give ANY information or respond to a caller of this type in any way however plausible they may seem.

I got a call from this number asking for my brother by his full name. I said he was not on this number. Then they asked if I was gillian asking if we had an accident recently

Came on my mobile phone. Only rang once so didn t have chance to answer it. Went to my Missed calls list where it said the call came from Burundi!!

Called once, hung up on answering. Called back. Claimed to be AA Accident Care Team. Had no accident at all since driving. Never been with the AA! Bunch if scammers!

Like others on here, I frequently post things for sale on Gumtree. Today, after posting an item, I received a text from this number, asking me to contact them by email. I did (but as I smelled a rat from the get go, I used an alternative email address that they can spam as much as they like) - and they replied almost instantly and very similarly to what others have received from them:- "Thanks for getting back to me,am really new to buying things on Gumtree i want the camera, i would like you to answer m

Yes this number is AO.com and yes they do know what you ordered. However this is the Sales end of their organisation so BEWARE (Its probably even a separate company just trading under the same name) . They are calling on the pre-text of your order with AO.com but are very aggressively trying to sell you appliance breakdown cover! Their script is well rehearsed leading you to believe they re on the service side of your purchase and calling about further delivery information. Try ringing them on this numb

also linked to a "local" call centre number which rings normally at same time. also called an elderly relative about an accident she had 5 years ago (she s never had an accident) very persistent

Called Sunday morning claiming to be doing a health survey for the government. Told them i needed proof. Gave me a couple of freephone numbers to ring which also seem dodgy. having read this thread I ve no doubt they will phone again but forewarned is forearmed.

Receiving these calls everyday and I m getting pretty hacked off! Pressed 9 on many occasions to opt out, still phoning me so press 2 to speak to someone so many times and told will be removed. Still waiting and in meantime still getting phonecalls. On TPS which is very annoying

Manchester seems to be the Spam call capital of Britain at the moment. Here s another number that never leaves a voicemail and which I don t recognise.
