Somebody purporting to be "Ellie from Options" texting me about my non-existent job application, asking for my address, email address, national insurance number, copies of passport, birth certificate, proof of national insurance, copy of my Cscs card (whatever that is!) back and front, 2 x working references. I am suspicious of this phone number. The man phoning spoke good English with a strong accent and was convincing. He told me he was from AV (antiviral program) and that my recent payment of £149 had not gone through. He offered me a discount policy at £29 for the next year. Claim to be undertaking a survey but asking questions about private health insurance and how much I pay per month and who insurance is with. This is not a UK government department calling. Male on this number rattled off who he was too quick to understand who he was representing. Then with quite assertiveness started to ask me personal questions about my property. I refused to answer any of his questions and phone was disconnected.
A very suspect call. Phone rang and after a few seconds of silence the call terminated. I would never try to phone back in case of the call-back scam which can put you through to a premium number which makes massive charges. This kind of call, even if a genuine cold call, can be very worrying to some people and I abhorr the method.

Allegedly Vodafone ringing me to give me a 40% discount on my bill for 12 months. I don't use Vodafone. I use ASDA, so they use Vodafone as the signal, but I have no dealings or bills with Vodafone. So clearly a scam.
