You cannot be charged for answering a call. The numbers are spoofed by scammers and are from outside the UK so the TPS has no effect.

I ve been called by this number and also 08435571598 - Scottish Power about carrying out a bill comparison . Explained we were not interested, happy as we were and to remove our number from their call list but this has obviously not happened as they still ring me nearly every day at least twice at different times of day & evening = 13 times in total since early September!

I believe this company is Harringtons Advisory ltd. PPI,Pensions,Accidents,Mortgages,debts, and other claims calls. I have found 67 phone numbers for them so far, and 35 of them end in 063. Caller identified herself as Julie Smith from Signet Advice (as far as I could tell with some background noise). Said she d been informed I was recently injured in a car accident that wasn t my fault. I asked her how she knew that. She replied that she was sorry to bother me and would remove my phone number from their database and hung up on me without pausing for breath. Pond scum.
