Received a call from this number claiming to be Microsoft saying that they've detected a problem with my computer and asked if I can switch on my computer. I refused and challenged them; caller eventually put me onto their "supervisor" and he asked me if I understood the nature of this call from Microsoft today but I told him that I didn't believe he was and he said "OK then f**k off" and I replied "Likewise" and hung up. It was a recorded message saying "this is your bank. three withdrawals have been made on your card this morning...." and went on to list various sums. No name of bank, no name of card or card holder. The number used is not listed by my bank. Very suspicious.

This is around the 10th call in a month using same script from different numbers (all now blocked). This number called me at 7:36 am on a Monday morning! I'm a retired person so I don't get up before the sun and at 7:36 am the sun is still in bed in Greater Manchester. I did jump out of bed but didn't pick up as I didn't recognise the number. Apparently the call originated in Thanet which Google tells me is in Kent. As I know of no reason why someone from Thanet (which I'd never even heard of) should phone me at an ungodly time of day I can only assume this was a scam call.

Claiming to be a company called Phones Ltd about a 40% discount code for o2 - even though that’s not my network provider. Put another person on the phone when she got flustered, male then started asking me my security question, what model of phone I had, mt network provider was etc. SCAM - avoid!! Trying to hack into my details. Do NOT give any details to this caller!!

Call centre spam / scam. Said she was from a company called MEA (I think). Claiming there was an issue with a life insurance policy, so there would be a problem with a payout. I don't know the company or have a policy with them.

They called asking for someone of a different name. I said it's a wrong number and they hung up. However it sounded very much like a scam call centre. After doing 1471 3 called them back and was hearing a recorded message about them being telly tube or telly shute. Never heard of them.

This number is being used to carry out impersonation scams through WhatsApp. Serious pressure being exerted claiming to be a family member in financial trouble. Fraud carried out via a Metro Bank Account sort code 23 05 80 using various account numbers and Metro Bank don't seem to be concerned. Has been reported to own bank and Action Fraud. This number is causing untold distress and needs to be taken out of service.
