I was targeted for an unusually precise scam 26/05/23 in which a group telephoned me apparently with specific knowledge of my bank organisation, my name and mobile number. The scam started by suggesting there was fraudulent activity on my bank account, and that the account was being temporarily suspended. What surprised me was that they knew who I banked with, and also spoofed the relevant bank telephone number

Called every day now from a number beginning 0208 xxxxxx. This number 0208 275 4022 today. So many scam calls now I let every call go to the answerphone and just use the mobile, this is so persistent that I called back from mobile. There was no connection, tried the other niumbers beginning 0208 received in the last 7 days - BT recording saying numbers unrecognised, Have no idea if this is a scammer or genuine - but if its genuine they are doing a poor job as you cant call back.

Said they were calling (my elderly father who lives with Dementia ????) from Domestic & General, which then changed to Legal & General, then back to D&G, wanting to pay a £250 refund and could they just have his bank card details to check…. ???? Fortunately I was there to intercept. If I hung up and ignored the call I may end up with a fine or court proceedings.no reference as to what the call was related to? Very strange and no reason why I would even recieve such a call. Safe number Received a call from 03333440000 trying to give me a text message to my landline. I hung up. Then I decided to check them out and it turned out to be a GENUINE COMPANY called AQL who were simply trying to give me a message. I called 03333446527 to retrieve my message which was from a NHS supplier. The message was important to me! Why the NHS supplier chose to send a text to my landline when they have my mobile number is a mystery to me. No worries here.

They yust phoned up but never left a message. Thats why i always have the answer phone on if they can't talk to you they can't sell you anything. That keeps the conmen at bay.
