Somebody claiming to be Ethan Hunt supposedly from Ace Investing claiming I had expressed an interest in investing with their firm. Wouldn't give up. Pretty sure he was a scammer but he did know my name, phone number and a (throwaway) email address.
He phoned me on Sunday in response to my ad and offered me the spare parts I wanted for my classic car. We agreed a price and then he said he wanted payment by bank transfer as he was about to go away on holiday. I was promised delivery by the end of the week but he later rang and said there was a delay and delivery would be next week and then he asked for my paypal details. I never did receive the parts and he eventually stopped responding to my calls and texts so I reported him to the police. I found

These mugs keep calling my grandmothers house, so have them the wrong address and then I kept questioning who they are, and why they are calling. Recorded voice saying there is suspicious activity hacking into your Internet and to press 1 to speak to our executive to have it fixed or it will be disconnected at 6pm. Needless to say this is definitely a scam and hoax as everything is completely ok. If this had been an elderly person getting a call like this they would be so worried and would press 1 and pay money. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM AND YOU SHOULD HANG UP AND BLOCK THE NUMBER!!
