They called my mobile and left a message for me to phone with meter readings (even though I sumitted them on-line in last 30 days). They get paid for each reading, without them collecting it. So my energy provider has increased costs(passed onto the customer) to receive something they already have. I ll save costs for me and my provider by submitting on-line.

So far I ve received two calls from this number within 24hrs after an online enquiry for broadband & phone with EE. I was just "shopping around" for a better deal. I don t think I ll bother to look any further now if this is what s going to happen as a result, with endless and unauthorised telesales calls. Bloke was very friendly and implied he was from BT and TPS. said there had been a large number of unsolicited calls in the area and offered a service to stop them. Hung up when I pressed him about price and told him I wouldn t pay. Scarily convincing to vulnerable people!

Someone called me from this number and asked me if I was "my own name". I stupidly confirmed it and then confirmed my email address. They started telling me about an iPad that I had won. <> <> <> Then followed a lot of swearing on my part before they hung up. Next time, if someone asks who I am, I ll ask who they are before hanging up.

Although showing what looks like a Cambridge number, my phone display also marked it as being an international call! Have now blocked this number.
