They phoned me saying they were from BT and trying to stop marketing calls (Like a kind of international Telephone Preference Service) and tried to get get my card details out of me. They read out my name and address to me then asked for the expiration date on my debit card so they could "verify" my details. I gave them a false one. They then asked for the "Reference" number of the card the big number along the top. I asked them to verify my BT account number (I m on Virgin Media) but they did nit see

I have just received a call, a person, with an Asian accent, telling me that they were calling on behalf of my internet provider! Beware, this number has reportedly been used by Vanquis Bank representatives. These callers claim to be representing themselves as a variety of other animal/pets or other charities. If you have had a debt with Vanquis and start getting calls from this number then beware. Do a web search using terms vanquis, debt and this (or other) phone numbers - it may be a pursuit of DEBTS!!!
