this was a robotic voice saying my internet would be cut off and them wanting to change my ip address, obviously a scam but supposedly a local number

Usual stuff. Today i asked them to hold the line while I find the details. Set the timer and put the phone on mute. I ve had them wait for as long as 10 minutes before. The more time I waste the less they harass somebody else.

6 calls over 3 hours about a non existent car accident

@Anonymous below - because they can t. The call could have originated elsewhere, even outside the UK.

Similar story to many of the above, claim that the 3rd party in an accident is making a claim and I should too, very poor line on the one occasion someone did speak otherwise it just hangs up after I answer. Tried calling back and it just goes straight to hold music indefinately.

Car accident claim scam-mongers, probably a robot, female voice, said a company name so quickly I couldn t catch it. The opening speech was along the lines of I m calling because you were in a car accident that wasn t your fault, is that right? . Said no and put the phone on one side - call ended after 23 seconds, but at least it was at their cost. Am registered with TPS for this mobile, so will report and block.

Vanquis Bank are sneaky and use lots of different telephone numbers to trick you into answering. For your convenience, I have listed many of the telephone numbers that they use below. If you answer calls from these numbers you may be charged for Debt Management so buy a BT8500 and stop all of these calls easily. I do not recognise this phone number to be of a business that I have corresponded with and still don't after looking it up. I allowed the call to ring out because of this.

Calling about compensation that could be available for a minor motoring incident I ve been involved with recently. They used my maiden name which was a red flag to start with, and I ve not been in any incident. Lady tried to persist with the call after I politely tried to end it so hung up instead. Looking back at call history there s been 6 missed calls from this number in last week with no messages left. Number now added to blocked list.

These annoying jobsworth ring every single day, blocked each time but they ring of so many different numbers ranging from 016648963** So they have 399 numbers to ring you from, must have blocked around 100 so far annoying bunch of misfits
