A voice said he was James from Relief Energy who said; "I've been trying to call you for a few days now, actually." Well, nobody has been trying to call me when I was at home, and as I check my phone whenever I've been out, then I know for sure that it's nonsense so I just hung up. Sounded sort of robotic, I suspect it was a recording. Unsettling and therefore I marked it as "Dangerous".SCAM

I answered the phone, silence, then a recorded message said they were RMG and they could not connect me to one of their advisers at the moment, If I wish to call them back then they would connect me to an adviser. Obviously a "sales call" trying to get me to part with my money. Conclusion: Illegal activity.

I was caught out by this today. They claimed to be calling from O2. Luckily, I realised after the call ended and was able to change my account details before any damage was done. The scammers knew all of my details - full name, address, email address, how much I'm billed each month - even my security question. They were very convincing. I am suspicious of this number because after receiving a possible ?phishing call I made a 1471 call to discover the number the call came from I was given this number, which I rang. It was answered by a man who told me he was in Kent and i told him why I had called his number but nothing else(my name or location) i suggested he should look into how this could have happened and that his line might be compromised somehow.

Said my card had been used abroad for £1000 on amazon account and they know I had t got an amazon account think it is a scam

They knew my name and said they'd been authorised by the government to handle a legal case against FX Trading. I knew it was a fraudulent phonecall when they wanted ID and statements from me. My phone picked up that they were calling from Rome but the man clearly said he was working for the UK government. Very dodgy!

Another pretend "Microsoft Technical Department" call. An obvious scammer and the phone number spoofed. The call seemed to come from a call centre with Asiatic voices.

I'm more and more convinced it is a scam. I was called this morning, by an automated voice, that there is a proceeding against me because I didn't pay my taxes, and if I want to avoid further consequences (including jail!), I should press 1. Pulled over, pressed 1, a female voice greeted me and asked for personal data. I didn't give any, and asked if there is a number I can call them back on. She said she would call me back later instead. Once home, checekd with HMRC, no issues with my status or taxes.

Phone handily warned me it was a potential scam call while it was ringing so I didn't answer.
