Scam caller stating hmrc have a case against you, not true, if press 1 will be charged excessively. Should be hung and dried.

An Indian voice, named James !, confirmed my details claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service and asked if I was still getting unwanted calls. I confirmed that I still get these and he informed me that I needed to update my details with them as it was about to expire. He then asked if I paid by direct debit - at this point I realised this to be a scam and ended the call.

Keep telling my terminally ill father that he rung them a year ago about investments my father does not recall this and my father would of asked my best friend for investment advice this is the fourth Time they ve rung us. Asked for me by name required about a ppi claim. They knew my address.They had to ask me which bank it was thru. And very stupidly I gave him my date of birth. If nothing else they are fishing for information to make an identity theft from unsuspecting people.
