07401878848 is a mobile phone number at an indian call centre, i traced it back through the network. Someone pretending to be from amazon stating that my details have been used to order some high value items and that to cancel it i would have to do as they instructed. They wanted remote access to my computer/tablet/phone so they could steal my data. The idiots didn't realise that they had phoned an it company. when i informed them of their mistake they hung up.

I had a call today from a South African sounding lady, from London number 020 8089 6127 said she was calling from a company called Teabag that got my suspicions up straight away, asked to speak to me by name, so she already had my name and phone number somehow. Pre recorded Scam call relating to unexpected withdrawals from a bank account. No name or bank mentioned. Asked for me to press 1 to confirm. That's a giveaway (red flag) as is the lack of personal details. I put the phone down immediately.

The number 01736 735261 called me about 10.30am 28/06/23 and it was a recorded message from an International Banking service stating I had made a payment of £300 to Amazon and £1100 to another provider. Told me to press 1 if correct and 2 to speak with an adviser. Pressed 2 and answered by "This is Officer Stephen, how can I help". When I asked which organisation he represented the phone went dead.

Nothing to worry about. A fireman offered to install smoke alarms in town the other day & left them at my door as I wasn't in, and just wanted to check that I'd got them okay & if I'd installed them. Really good considering it was free.
This number has called twice now. Can't comment on who or what it is because my landline phone range once each time! No doubt it is some unsolicited spam or similar.
