I was called to day and the man asked to speak to my husband. I asked him what about and he said that it was about his HSBC holdings which needed assessing. I told him he couldn t be from HSBC as my husband died this year and HSBC were well aware of this. He apologised quickly and rang off.

Welsh lad called, went through whole list of directors names that he alleged he d spoken to earlier in the year. Given that I deal with the telecoms I know this is BS. Said he would ring back; when told that the directors don t take unsolicted calls replied that it wasn t unsolicited. The bloke is an absolute weapon.

I had already blocked this number as a "cold caller" on my iPhone but these people are breaking the UK law by circumventing my block action and forcing my phone to ring. They addressed me by name and claimed that I requested a call back regarding financial services/trading. I'm a bit worried that they had my name and it seems that this was the only purpose of the call, to confirm the name pertaining to the mobile No. They hang up immediately.
