TAXES / HMRC that’s what they claim to be. They rang me through an automated voice machine, asked me to call back. I called back and they said that I am being sued for tax evasion which I know is impossible. When I rang back the second time , no answer. Doesn’t seem legit at all

I was called from this number, claiming there is something wrong with my internet connection and saying that if I didn't answer his questions he would cut me off from BT who he said is providing my access. Very insistent, wouldn't give me details how he came to have my number but didn't know my name! Yes, ridiculous but maybe someone else would believe him. It sounded like a call centre in the background, definitely fraudulent.

Melville consultants visited my company saying they could appeal and reduce our business rates. The person who visited was Peter John. He said they could put in an appeal, no charge, but if appeal accepted then they would charge to complete the appeal and send in a surveyor.
