SCAM : I received a text from this number, claiming to be my Daughter "I have damaged my screen mum can you whats app 07741757843" my daughter was in bed sleeping!as you can see they tried to get me to what app them".

Trusted to answer as it's a number local to me. Turned out to be an automated message claiming to be from VISA payments to say that my card had been charged £300 to Amazon and £1100 to Western Union, encouraged me to press 1 to dispute charges. Decided it was going to be a phishing scam and hung up.

SCAM. Rang back and someone with an Asian accent answered my call identifying themselves with an English first name and a surname. I asked what is the nature of the call and they said it is about some kind of TRADING. I told the Asian sounding person to pimp out their family members rather than conning people.

They are saying they are from BT, however the following is true (as I worked for BT for 36 years). 1 - BT do not ring you on a mobile number (unless and engineer has an appointment at your house that you know about). 2 - The phone is registered to Vodaphone, BT do not use any other networks for their own use. 3 - He could not give me my BT account number. 4 - He said he was from Millenium City London, this mobile number is located in Manchester! The number called my friend and asked "how are you " on WhatsApp we didn't recognise the number so it is now blocked. We know no-one from Russia.

This number called me on 28.04.23. Supposedly, a message from my bank to inform that my debit card had been used for suspicious purchases. To cancel the 2 transactions and speak to an agent press 1, which I did. A woman with a very strong foreign accent requested my name, date of birth and address in order to make the cancellation. She then asked for my card sort code, which rang alarm bells. I told her that if she was calling from my bank she should already know that and I would ring them. She hung up.

Claimed to be from EE and that they could reduce my phone bill. (I'm not with them on this number). As soon as I said that their number was flagged as potential spam they hung up

Guy called Chris saying he knows i am the household energy payer i asked where he got my number from and he hung up

SCAM First I received a silent call from 028 8505 1239 (to verify a working number?) Then within 5 minutes, I started getting whatsapp messages from a very attractive female profile asking when I was going to visit her using the number 07727214429. Looks like a scam to me.

The grammar and punctuation told me it wasn’t my son as he never uses punctuation. Very dodgy My son and myself are in the UK the map shows this number is Russian origin. Beware

IT IS A SCAM The person they named left here over 9 years ago and has updated her contact details with LLOYDS each time she moved. The question I would like answered is if LLOYDS know they have detected fraudulent activity on a card, why don’t they stop it?
