Well-know scam that has been around for a long time. HMRC will NEVER call you!

Been called a couple of times from this number claiming I have money owed to me from a third party in my last crash. There was no third party involved, only myself, yet they keep on ringing and telling me this (presumably they want my bank details). When I explain that they are totally in the wrong and there is no money owed to me they have become VERY RUDE. They call 2 or 3 times a day, and when i answer, i always hear a conversation going on between the people in the office, then they go silent and hang up. I called back today and spoke to a sales agent Maurice James, who said he would remove my number from their account. BEfore he had chance to put the phone down on me i asked him to confirm the number and address and name of who he had listed, and he came up with a name, address and postcode which are definitely not me. Cold calling about PPI.

Trying to sell Home Security devices which would ?guarantee a quicker response from the Police?...would cost ?6.00 a week....our salesmen (sic) in your area....when asked for a website where I could see more details he immediately terminated the call.

You can easily stop these calls; Laithwaites, but on phoning back just an answer phone message which says your wine club tried to call you and to stop the calls, press 1 and leave the number and it will be removed from the list.

Called 14:26. I said "Hello" 3 times and he "Who is that?" . Recorded message said "Goodbye"!!!
