Automated message when you pick up that says ive avoided tax of some sort and that I need to press 1 to speak to someone to avoid it going to court. After pressing 1 it just goes silent and when you call it back it just says persons phone is switched off. Im based in Wales and call is from Manchester so will assume its a scam

I am heartily fed up with these people. Each time I report the scam number to talktalk on their website. Don t know if it does any good but its worth a try.

A Total Scam: 02075467402 - They reckon that they were HM Revenue, calling about my taxes. I needed to press 1 to speak to someone. If I Do Not. A WARRANTwould be issued for my Arrest. It really is LAUGHABLE but Sad, They are trying to put Fear into people who are going through a terrible time in this Covid Lockdown period. SCAM - automated call claiming that 'Due to unauthorised use, your internet will be disconnected' and to hold on the line to speak to a call handler. Caller with Indian accent claimed to be from 'Cyber Security Dept' that deals with security issues for all the service providers including BT. Starts by asking me if I have given my password to anyone and what devices I currently have connected. After giving her some bogus answers, I put her on hold and disconnected the call after 5mins. Definitely SCAM!
