Caller asked me if I remember the car accident I’d had? Well, unless I’m concussed and / or lost my memory as a result of it … then no, I can’t remember it due to not actually having an accident. An Asian (oriental) sounding voice speaking barely understandable pigeon English. When they rang me I told them I HAD been in an accident, but it was my fault and I caused the death of 4 people. They stammered a bit then I asked them could they help me with this! They hung up.

Well spoken young male claiming to be from BT business and looking to review my phone usage and how I could reduce my costs. When I advised him that this was a residential line he said that as it was still being used for a business he could probably still save me money. When I showed disinterest he advised me that I would need to have a conversation with them soon as BT were discontinuing analogue phone services next year and we would lose our service if we didn't transfer to digital. Scam call purportedly from bank advising of fraudulent credit card transactions which they are blocking. The caller wants you to input a code which they text to you. DO NOT DO SO. If you do they will, no doubt, get access to your account. I put a block on the call number via my mobile phone provider and sent an email to the bank's security dept informing them of the scam.
I had a email apparently from Meta (Facebook) to say this number (07956836341) had been added to my Facebook account and with a link to report this if it wasn’t me who added the number. The date on the email was wrong (Friday 6th June 2023 doesn’t exist). The link asked for my FB password so I didn’t continue. I checked my FB security details and no number had been added. It looks as though this is a scam to try to access FB passwords.

I received an SMS that appears to have been sent by HSBC. This shows an one-time password for a transaction of around £983 and asks me to urgently call this number (03309124638) if I do not recognise this transaction. BEWARE THIS IS A SCAM! I have called HSBC (on their true number and not the fake number mentioned above) and they have confirmed what was obvious to me: THIS IS A SCAM. Your account is safe and has not been compromised. IGNORE THE TEXT MESSAGE and do NOT call that number. That's all!
The caller rang of as soon as I answered. Therefore I suspect some Sort of sales rubbish or scammer. They will not get a chance to mess me about again as I am blocking the number. I hate this method of trying to sell things to the general public. Most of my peer group no longer answer their land line or their mobile if the number is not in their phones contact list.

Be careful, I was called with an offer from ‘Currys Carphonewarehouse’ to reduce my mobile sim cost while upgrading the data and minutes allowance and the scammers already had a lot of my personal information including the monthly cost of my current sim plan. The dodgy email account they sent me a confirmation email from was [email protected]. They also called me on 07842778977, 07843577187 & 07848628655. Another landline number associated with the scammers is 02034042911.

My second call this morning from an 01257 number - different ones - both claiming to be a banking service who have detected suspicious activity on my account. They are both automated messages with the same female voice and both claim withdrawals from my (unspecified) account from the same places (Amazon and overseas) but quote different amounts. 01257 is my local dial code, which I suspect is meant to lend credibility to the call. It asked to preess 1 to delete or 2 to connect to an operative. I hung up
