I have just received a call, a person, with an Asian accent, telling me that they were calling on behalf of my internet provider! (I received a similar call last week too, but told them I was having dinner). Apparently, they have noticed that my internet is not working to it s full potential. They call me to tell me I won a family holiday and they asked if I own my home and if I am between 30-60 years old, and then they asked if our annual income is over £30,000 and when I said no she said that I do not qualify.

Received call form this number and called back to see who it was. Apparently it is the company that handles upgrades on behalf of T-Mobile. They had called me in error as I am with O2. No problems when I informed them of this.

Hi, just via email and the dating site. A familiar life story regarding wife n daughter so was suspicious. Way over the top considering only a couple of emails...life together etc. French Canadian now near Glasgow...in France at the mo for inspiration for his art as having an exhibition next year. Just received a call from these chimps at 12.08 pm lunchtime, it even had a picture of the person calling, what a nerve. I use Mr. Number and True Contact on my mobile, the best 2 apps that I ve installed on my mobile, they warn you that it s a spam number calling and if possible, the name, whereabouts and if possible, the nature of the call and if it s suspected spam, it will cut them off. Saves me giving them a few choice words too.

Almost certainly a scammer. These calls use spoofed numbers and originate outside the UK. The scammers can spoof any number they want. Block the number if you have the facility.

My advise to all is, if you receive a scam telephone call, press the hash key #### several times and this will stop them bothering you again!!

The number is fake as well, London numbers don t start with a 1 after the 020.

I had a call from 08004118899 trying to persuade me to buy plan to cover a Hotpoint washing machine as according to them my warranty has expired. Since I have never registered this machine and I doubt the respected shop from which it was bought would give them my details I was suspicious of their company and proposed service. Looking at these comments it would appear I am correct in resisting their advances.
