Someone called me from this number and asked me if I was "my own name". I stupidly confirmed it and then confirmed my email address. They started telling me about an iPad that I had won. <> <> <> Then followed a lot of swearing on my part before they hung up. Next time, if someone asks who I am, I ll ask who they are before hanging up.

Called claiming to be Scottish Power. I stupidly went through the security questions (address and DOB) as I am in process of leaving Scottish Power. He then said I had a balance to pay on the account and would I like to pay by card. I had suspicions though and said I would do it online - he asked why, at which point I was really suspicious and called up Scottish Power who didn t know the number, and said my account was in credit. Asked for me by name required about a ppi claim. They knew my address.They had to ask me which bank it was thru. And very stupidly I gave him my date of birth. If nothing else they are fishing for information to make an identity theft from unsuspecting people.
