Automated call claiming to be HMRC. An arrest warrant had been issued in my name for tax evasion. I did not press 1 to speak to someone.

Definite scam. I looked up Starpro - Aberdeen. They call off different numbers all based in Aberdeen and there's loads of people stating that they were scam artists trying to claim to be a phone company and asking for details.

Scam Number... When answered, you hear the "hiccup" meaning you were on an Autodialer and because you've answered, the "hiccup" sound is where the computer is connecting a scam agent. Personally, any call I hear that sound, I hang up, search the number and 9 out of 10 times (9/10) end up Barring the Number. Hope this helps.

This is from russian federation apparently scamming as HMRC

SCAM I was phoned by this number today. It was a crackly line and the woman said she it was a bank call telling me that there were 2 suspicious payments from my bank account today. One for £300 and one for £3000. There were nos to press to agree to the payments or a number to speak to someone. I ended the call and then redialled the number registered, but it said that it was an incorrect number.

Caller claimed to be from Amazon regarding a subscription charge for their Prime service valued at £199. Then asked me to press 1 if I needed to speak with an service colleague. I didn’t respond and have blocked the number.

The callers from this number are scammers. They called claiming to be 3 Mobile and wanted me to upgrade to a new contract when I only just renewed my contract with the real 3 Mobile a couple of months back and my existing contract is locked for another 10 months. When I asked the idiot to email me the offer to review, they asked me for my email address and if they were really 3 Mobile they would already have it in their records. Clearly a scam - but impressive - even left a voice mail. DO NOT press 1 as the call suggests. The threatening message is clearly fraud. Why oh why can't the phone companies do something about these? Because they don't care...

Called about bitcoin, and said my number was associated with bitcoin purchase about 4 years ago. I did not even have this number that long ago. Sounded very shady, when I questioned what it was about they rushed to hang up saying that they would be in contact when they could prove it.

Extremely rude man claiming to be from Virgin. Very persistant, I told him I wasn't interested and hung up, he rang back twice. Very angry.
