spoke to man calling from VPC - told me I had been in an accident, PPI call, when I informed him it was a company telephone number, he hung up!!!!!

Said they were from google - they weren t. Wanted me to set up campaigns etc... I m living in Ireland. Seem to be targeting certain trades at a time....

So they called me earlier today claiming to be Virgin. They were offering me a deal to upgrade my services and I was wary of them for quite a while, however they never asked me for any bank details only to confirm personal information so I proceeded with the call. After seeing the reviews here I got worried after by how much they knew about my account so I called Virgin, who confirmed it was in fact their marketing team and the deal I was offered had been genuine and that upgrades were indeed in the works.

They called to say they were the RAC and requested payment as mine had been declined by the bank. I asked him for my membership number didn’t have it told him to jog on

This bunch of idiots continue to make silent calls throughout the day. There is no-one there on pick up. When I call back I get a voicemail saying you were called by the above company and they will call again later. Extremely annoying!!!!!

Told me his name was Vitali and he was calling because i had a problem with my router and that i would need to swap to a talk talk one (I m not with talk talk). He tried to get me to do stuff on my computer and told me it was full of errors. Not very happy when I called him out on it. He gave me Virgin Media s sales number when i asked him for his number as i didnt believe him. But 1471 told me he called from this number. Watch out.

Scam do not answer. Kept getting missed calls and so called back and message says 'please wait for the next available agent'.

This number persistently calls my mobile. I don't know anyone who has this number. It is not our Drs etc so I just ignore it. Wish it would bog off.

This number called with message about "every house needs to be done by 2016" plus "we are in your area" last week - some solar panel scam. Didn t answer - the message is recorded on my answerphone. Same message from 01316483485 yesterday - same result. This lot have probably rented fake numbers from a major phone company which offers them on its web site. Some firms offer call centres numbers which give the person called the idea that it is a local call.

Warranty/insurance scam. Problem is few of these scams get reported to the police so it’s rare that the criminals get nicked. This site probably gets more reports of scam calls and texts per hour than the police get in a month. BUT the police do make arrests and do close down scam numbers and operations, often working with overseas forces, if they know about it. Reporting is easy.
