SCAM Call from spoofed [and disconnected] number on my local exchange (0161 434), but with international marker. Typical "you have ordered an iPhone on Amazon for £££." fraudulent pitch.
A woman with a Middlesborough accent tried to interest me in solar panels, saying she was from The Energy Reduction Company. When I asked how she got my number she said it was on their database & when I told her I was registered with TPS she said she d get it removed - but I doubt it as I ve been called by this number before, though not giving the same company name. I have reported them to TPS.

I would urge anyone receiving calls from this number to report their experience to Action Fraud and Ofcom. This number belongs to a company called Allclaim Solutions, but they might call themselves ACS. They target the elderly and vulnerable and their main objective is to obtain bank details for anything from insurance for washing machines to rebates for Council Tax. It s a complete scam. Ive had this one a couple of times, telemarketer, I think weatherseal, didnt answer it-I think these call centres can dial for multiple companies, not just one. the telephone preference service (TPS) doesnt prevent all calls. From the TPS website: As TPS registration only prevents marketing calls, organisations will still be able to call you for the purposes of genuine market research. :(
