SPAM BT Openreach technical dept asking about my internet speed, when did I last test it, what were the values, can I recheck it. Then he asked if I knew how to get an accurate one and he would help me. I asked WHY!! He then wanted the ping rate. In the end I think he wasn’t happy because I am actually annoyed at the service 1.3 megabytes per second! I asked him what is this about and I am NOT letting you near my iPad. He hung up.

I too received a call at a funeral at 1020 this morning about so-called PPI, when asked how they got a ex directory number, they were reluctant to answer their source. I informed them a complaint will be submitted for their harrassment, I have also sent a letter to the BBC Panorama. programme who are investigating companies under various names. Paid number - rang once then hung up - intention is to get you to call them back at exorbitant rates.
Unknown caller. when dialed there is an exchange message "The number you have dialed has not been recognised. Please check and try again." This seems to be occurring more frequently. It is now possible to make calls from another number look as though the call is coming from somewhere totally different, for example a call made from a Glasgow number can seem to come from London. Be wary. This experience happens on calls from 01506 674749 to 01506 674752 inclusive.

This number was used for a scam call supposedly from BT Internet. I think it is probably an ordinary valid number, Scammers seem able to hijack numbers and this is one of several received recently from other members
